I forgot to light a candle
Many a love die
But what a way to die...
Many a love fade,
But what a way to fade...
I forgot to light a candle today
For a man who once loved.
His name was Rizwanur
He died the other day...
I didn't know him, no.
And neither would I have had;
Had he not loved the way he did-
Or died the way he died.
It's all over the papers, you know
They make it sound pretty sad.
His death on the tracks;
His widow and all...
I forgot to light a candle today
For a man who once loved...
His name was Rizwanur,
He died the other day...

This link has an article with details of the Rizwanur case.
I like poems with their abstractness intact.)

i did not really seem to capture the under current very deeply...it didn't strike a chord but i like the emotion which turned it into a poem... :)
Nice Poem... mainly the emotions...
It's good to see a bloggoing on from past 1 year... keep it up...
Ready to read more from you...
Nice one ....!!... honestly i hardly really went that deep in to that incident ....good to c some ppl around who really cares for the "relative" term called "love".....
Very nice emotions in the poem!
nice emotional poem.. bt it sum how doesn't click. maybe its not deep enough or sad enough.. but really nice poem
agree with a couple of others.... doesn't strike a chord all too well. To cite a probable reason, you may not have captured the essence of his going away, which makes the compliments pretty light.
But kuddos for thinking about something that we generally just graze through in the papers...
