Fafda, jalebi, cholafali ane papaya ni chatni
And then, my faithful two-wheeler got all the credit that's due to it on this day.
Am so used to zooming off on this, trying to drive a car seems cumbersome. After two paid driving lessons for a fortnight each, it's high time I start driving. But that would be unfair to my Activa...

So, how did you celebrate today? Happy Dussera!

Yum! I love fafda-jalebi breakfasts too :) My friend has a 2 wheeler and a car. She drives the car only during monsoons..the rest of the year she prefers her scooty to zip thru the traffic!
Yumm..all the things you get to eat. I don't like fafda so much but jalebi is always welcome.
Happy dusshera to you too.
Happy Dussera...
Happy Dassehra to you and yours, Gauri!

Fafda alone is rather bland.. i like it best with lots of papaya and green chillies.. heaven...

Your feast looks absolutely mouth-watering! Alas, I had my usual toast and tea for breakfast! But hopefully I will make it up with a nice feast for Deepavali!

I've never had fafda. Must google it to see what it is!
Hey... not fair!
We get only virtual treats. ;)
The breakfast looks yummy!
Thanks sm, Wish you and your family also had a great time on the day..
Kamini,
This is a traditional gujju way of starting the morning on Dussera day..
Fafda is a deep-fried snack made from chick-pea flour.. am afraid, people rarely make it at home.
there are longwinding queues outside farsan (sweetmeat) shops to buy these from early morning on Dussera.
btw, the Maharashtrian custom is exchange leaves of kanchan tree (Bauhinia purpurea if i am not mistaken)to symbolize blessings, wealth and health..
And i am sure your Deepavli feast will far surpass this store-bought delight we have got used to.:)
Thanks Sangeetha.. Welcome to my blog! i liked your food blog a lot..
Indrani, as i told Kamini the other day, it won't remain virtual if we happen to meet:) so is there any bloggers' meet happening sometime soon??
